What are the chances of finding a bread roll named after you?

A relatively quiet day was in order after getting over the 'touristy' things to do yesterday. The day started with breakfast at the hotel (why not - it's inclusive!) before heading to Ben Tranh market to finish the shopping for the boys and grand kids.

We spent much of the morning at the market and again visited Nhung's stall for a feed before heading back to the hotel. Michelle stuck with the spring rolls and fresh pineapple juice whilst Murray opted for Bun Thit Nuong Nem Nuong Tom Nuong which we are led to believe 'oinked' in it's former life. The afternoon was spent lounging around the hotel away from the hustle and bustle that is Ho Chi Minh.

We visited the supermarket for a few supplies in the late afternoon when Michelle spotted the "Staff" brand  Banh Mi Cha Bong. Not having the translation book, we took a punt and bought a couple not knowing what the hell was inside as it felt a little spongy and weird. Turns out they are pre-made bread rolls with shredded pork on them! coulda been worse I guess......

We have orgnised a trip to the Cu Chi Tunnels tomorrow (Michelle's birthday) and have arranged to go by boat rather than road to give us a different perspective of the city along the way. With any luck Michelle's birthday dreams of letting rip with an AK-47 may finally come to fruition. See ya then!
